Finally, I bonded with the customers by describing Jessie's complaint to the
Naturalist, by talking about his wife's nesting instinct and her desire to
live safely in the woods and her dreams to raise a family in the beautiful
hills above Santa Cruz.... Then, when they were putty in my hands, I closed
the sale with a request for tax deductable support and an offer to give a
free educational presentation to their home owners association. Interested
people got a business card with my web site address. Very interested people
who lived in the suburban wildlands interface zone got a DVD containing our
demo reel.
